Dr. Zarek Wins Annual Young Physician Award from Delaware Medical Society

On October 20, 2007, Dr. Zarek was presented with this award by the Delaware Medical Society. This was awarded "for her leadership and dedication to the medical profession in our state, and for her energy, enthusiasm, and vision in leading the Society's Young Physician Section since 2005."

Deborah T. Zarek, MD is a native of Los Osos, California. She graduated from George Washington School of Medicine and completed her residency in Internal Medicine at the Christiana Care Health Center. She is board-certified in Internal Medicine. Her interests include preventive medicine, as well as a special interest in woman’s health.

Dr. Zarek is the Chairman of the Young Physicians Section of the Delaware Medical Society, and she is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians.
Dr. Zarek was recently named one of the "Top Docs" for women in Delaware Today Magazine.

Dr. Zarek practices in association with her husband David Donohue, MD, also an internist, and a native of Wilmington, Delaware.

In addition to learning a great deal at this premier internal medicine conference, Dr. Zarek will be presented with her ACP Fellowship. This is a distinction earned through her activism in the academic medical community in Delaware.

They will return to their notmal office hours on Monday, May 19.

Dr. Zarek organized the 2008 Delaware American College of Physicians Scientific Meeting

On February 23, 2008, Dr. Zarek organized the annual conference for the Delaware chapter of the American College of Physicians (ACP). This is the biggest internal medicine symposium for the state of Delaware. Dr. Zarek and her team organized a fantastic conference this year. New Hospital Schedule

Dr. Zarek now attends Christiana or Wilmington Hospital on a rotating basis. She now rounds at either Christiana or Wilmington Hospital, in 1 week shifts. Dr. Montigney and Dr. Maleh are sharing this duty with Dr. Zarek. Patients of Dr. Zarek or Dr. Donohue admitted to either hospital might be seen by Dr. Maleh, Dr. Montigney, or Dr. Zarek.

The doctors took this step to reduce commuting time they previously spent in driving to multiple hospitals.

Audrey Violet was born on April 11th at 3PM. 6 pounds 12 ounces, 21 inches.
